Universal Page

Creating An Impactful Storytelling Experience

We designed Webster University's website to adapt well across all devices (including mobile, desktop and tablet) while also providing a seamless user experience. By using our Universal Page template, we’re able to encourage our audience to explore and learn more about our diverse, personal and flexible community.

This template helps capture our audience’s attention through modern photography, intriguing stats, snackable content and accessible navigation. It also serves as a bridge to additional content exploration and provides users a chance to transition from page to page, section to section. Before choosing to use this particular template, consider the number and types of pages that would be nested within it.

Settings are not just backdrops. Imagery demonstrates learning in action. Individuals or groups should be candid and unaware of the camera.

COMPOSITIONS: STUDENT-FOCUSED

Negative space works to highlight the activity. The use of negative space allows for the placement of additional design elements, like typography.

CASTING: INCLUSIVITY IN ACTION

People are diverse and relatable and are not supposed to look like professional models. Feature a wide range of people (race, age, gender, ability, class, body type – reflecting our global learning community.)

Headers

Our headers act as a title for the content immediately following it and are constructed to connect with the audience by piquing their curiosity. Descriptive headers should be 50-70 characters with minimal relative pronouns and prepositions to ensure active phrasing.
