These undergraduate minor programs are offered by the School of Communications Department of Communications and Journalism and most are only available at the St. Louis main campus. The Media Studies minor is also available online and at the Geneva, Switzerland and Tashkent, Uzbekistan campuses.

This minor is designed to give students from all academic disciplines within the university an opportunity to explore the basic principles, theory and practice of Strategic Communications that businesses, organizations, and non-profit and charitable entities use to inform persuade and engage multiple stakeholders.

This minor has requires a course in media writing with the remaining 15 credit hours selected from JOUR courses.

This minor will include creating effective communications strategies, developing media content for different audiences and communication fields over multiple platforms, and analyzing media content and effects.
