Advance your Career with Scale AI and Webster’s Technical Writing Certificate

Webster University, in partnership with Scale AI, is launching a new Technical Writing Certificate program in Spring 1, 2026, designed to prepare today’s workforce to become proficient technical communicators in an AI-driven world.

The program equips employees with the skills to translate and synthesize complex information into clear, user-friendly language — a critical capability as artificial intelligence systems increasingly generate content that requires refinement for professional and public use.

Workforce members will apply for admissions through this Landing Page and submit official documentation, such as a certificate of completion from Scale AI and/or verified transcript from the approved partner organization. As per the Admissions policy, learners will need to provide an official transcript (high school transcript and/or any coursework or college/university transcript) before the beginning of the second course. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for initial non-degree admissions to Webster University.

Estimated Duration for Student Completion:

One year, depending on course enrollment.

Credit Hours:

A total of nine credit hours will be awarded through a combination of articulated credit and applied academic coursework, recognizing both prior professional training and faculty-supervised applied learning. Students will also complete nine additional credit hours of Webster University coursework (three courses) to fulfill certificate requirements.

Note: The estimated duration of the program is based on sequential course enrollment. Workforce members may begin the sequence at any point in the rotation. However, all three courses must be completed to earn the certificate. The nine credit hours awarded through a combination of articulated credit and applied academic coursework will be awarded after the completion of the technical writing program or after the completion and payment of three courses, whichever comes first.

Eligible applicants will be coded in the student information system with the Corporate Partner Tag and assigned both an Enrollment Coach and an Academic Advisor within Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning. These staff members will provide onboarding, registration and academic support throughout the learner’s participation in the program.
