CMS Student Awarded Full-Tuition Scholarship to Berklee College of Music

CMS percussionist Norah Murphy (pictured with instructor Michael Faris) has been awarded a full-tuition, four-year scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston for fall 2026. She will major in professional music, focusing on songwriting, music production, music business and performance.

Murphy is the principal timpanist for the 2026 Missouri All-State Orchestra and principal percussionist for the CMS Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra. She was also selected for the 2026 Missouri All-State Choir and performs as a percussionist with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

This past summer, Murphy released her debut solo album, featuring her guitar playing and original songwriting.
